November Golf In The Darkness
I called out sick today. I needed a break. Lately everyone seems to want a piece of me or my time. I haven't played golf since August. Before that it was back in June. I've been very busy in this fast moving year. I've only played eight rounds all year. Today was round number nine. I played so so. Nothing exciting. My five iron was solid. It was my most dependable club in my bag today. My chipping was horrendous. Putting...meh.
I didn't get mad at my bad shots. I reminded myself that I haven't played in a couple of months. I think I might go out tomorrow. I asked the starter in the pro shop how busy the course is on football Sunday. He said it's very busy once the course opens, then at 10am, it's a virtual ghost town. I think I might play while others are watching football.
As for the end of today's round. I'd tee off, hit my approach, pick the ball up and walk it to the green, then putt. I had to do that the last two holes. I went out a bit late. Once I drained my last putt, it was completely dark. The time falls back tonight at 2am. I'll have to hit the course early. Winter is coming.
