On The Run.....Non Stop

Image
Hi friends! It's been a very busy couple of weeks for ol' Phoenix Chestnut. Working nonstop. I'm tired. The money is good, but with inflation, it goes fast. I get a day off tomorrow, but it's gonna be a working day off. Laundry and cleaning around the house. Nothing exciting. I've been meaning to play golf, but I have no time. Adulting.  I'm having a few "Soda pops" now. Nice way to end the day. Until next time!

Change Is In The Air

I had a lazy day Monday. I met a friend for lunch. We met for about almost three hours. It was a very nice visit. I originally planned to go to the gym and play golf after that. I hit a carb coma. I went home, intending to take a nap. Monday Night Countdown was on. I wanted to see Jason Kelce in his new TV role. He's very entertaining and he has amazing football acumen. While I was watching Monday Night Countdown, I had a few Coors Lights. Right around kickoff I fell asleep. I woke up to see that Atlanta upset Philadelphia 22-21. I was still feeling the beers, so I just relaxed. Finally got out to gas up and go get more cat food. I then went to the gym to get some cardio in. After a hour workout, I walked to my car and enjoyed the cool night air. It was a very pleasant night. Summer is in it's final days. It's starting to get cooler at night. I looked up in the sky and saw the moon hiding behind some clouds. Fall is coming.

Friday Night Football

Well it's high school football season again. It's never been a big deal to me. I could never watch high school football when I was in high school. Why? Because I felt I should have been down on the field playing. I never played due to two reasons. First being I overslept the day of ninth grade football meetings. A friend and I walked to the meeting, and realized we were late. We didn't want to awkwardly walk in late to the meeting and look bad for doing so. So we walked back home. So laziness on my part. Secondly was because my mom was against it and she wouldn't have signed the permission slip. She felt I was too small and underweight to play. I told her how football players go through conditioning by running and lifting weights. Another reason she told me later in life was she couldn't afford it. Being a single mom, it would have been another bill to pay for.  Later in life I would thank my mom because no one else's ugly rubbed off on my pretty face! Ha! It...

Ol' Phoenix Is Going Dry

I'm starting a non booze challenge this month. Going dry. Why? Because I can do it.  I had my first beer in almost three weeks yesterday and it didn't agree with my stomach. Well, let's back up a bit. I had a couple of beers with breakfast earlier in the day. They tasted great. Thought I'd have a few more to last last through the weekend. So I Instacarted a 18 pack. I drank four. I think those four made my stomach ache. I had 14 left. I gave them to my nephew.  I've quite honestly lost the taste for beer lately. Winter will eventually be here. I don't drink beer during the winter. Who wants to enjoy a cold beer on a cold day?  Well, one day down, twenty-nine more to go! Until next time...
