View From A Diner

Took my mom out to dinner. Nothing fancy, just a quick bite at Denny's Diner. Ever since I noticed trucks, I look for them on the road. I don't know why I have this sudden fascination with the trucking lifestyle. Heck, a few years ago I was all about being preppy. I still have some of my preppy clothes, but lately I've been all about t shirts and jeans. I used to be jealous of the guy who got the girls wearing t shirt and jeans while I was wearing my "Alex P. Keaton" clothes. I guess I was too dressed up for the girls taste? 
Anyhow, at my age, I'm all about comfort. Today I'm wearing a flannel shirt and jeans. Maybe in a past life I was a trucker?

I worked 13 out of 14 days recently. I'm finishing up another stretch of work. I'm ready for some beers and tacos. Looks like someone needed something a little harder. Cheers to my "weekend". Golf and baseball on the agenda.

Summer Is Here

Howdy y'all! Phoenix Chestnut here! Just checking in. The warm weather is here in Sacramento, which means it's time for cutoff shorts. I used to look down on cutoffs when I was younger. I thought it looked sloppy. I thought only poor people did it. As I've gotten older, I've taken a liking to them. They're very comfortable and almost anything goes with them...t shirts, polo shirts, Hawaiian shirts, tank tops, and jerseys (baseball, football and basketball). And you can wear them anywhere...the gym, the beach, ballgames, brunch, the pool, playing pickleball, concerts, anywhere! I have about six pairs now. I love them.  I saw this picture of some Canadian boys wearing cutoffs at a car show. I always think that summer is here when that picture goes viral in June.  Until next time!
