Dreaded Laundry Day

Image
I've been very busy lately. I've also been very busy on my down time. The laundry built up.  Washing clothes is like a fresh start. Washing away the past. Start anew.  Until I let the laundry build up again. Until next time!

Hamlet and Coors Light?

Ol' Phoenix Chestnut is cultured you know. Yes my favorite movie of all time is Smokey and the Bandit, but I love the greatest play of all written by Willie Shakespeare. Hamlet! The greatest tragedy ever told! I'm quite partial to the Larry Olivier 1948 version. Some would call Laurence Olivier the greatest actor ever. He wanted people to call him Larry. I never met him, but I'll call him Larry. I'm up late enjoying a few Coors Light's (Soda Pops as I call them). I had a few bratwurst for dinner. I don't know why, but Hamlet has been on my mind lately. It's 3:30 am. I think ol' Willie Shakespeare would love a ice cold lager while researching his notes. I'll raise a glass to Larry and Willie tonight!  Until next time, cheers!  To be or not to be. I'll always be Phoenix Chestnut, that is the answer.

No Coors Light On Tap? We Have A Problem!

I met some friends for lunch at Texas Roadhouse in Fairfield. I took the long way to get there. 1-5 North to Woodland, Hwy 16, then 505 south, then 80 West. I did that to avoid the weekend traffic on 80 where it's stop and go in some parts. I listened to the Pat McAfee podcast on the way. Nice drive to Fairfield.  I get there early and get us a table. I was thirsty from the drive and asked for a tall, ice cold Coors Light. I used to get a big mug of it all the time when I lived in Fairfield. "We only have it in bottle now", said the waiter. I asked what was on tap. It was beer I don't drink. I settled for a sweet iced tea. My friends came and we had a nice meal. I made a rookie mistake and ordered loaded potato skins. How was that a mistake? I ate most of them, along with a couple of rolls and my salad. When my 16 ounce ribeye arrived I was almost full. Had maybe a quarter of it. Had a couple of bites of my sweet potato. Took it home in a to go box. Once I got home I ...

Pigging Out at Taco Bell

I shouldn't be eating this stuff, but I had a long, non stop day. I walked over 20,000 steps. I'm exhausted. Bought a 1.75 liter bottle of champagne. My co-worker asked if it was all for tonight. I said yes. He said it looks like alcohol poisoning. Nope I told him. I can handle it. Ol' Phoenix Chestnut is a big league drinker! Until next time! Cheers!
