The Phoenix Chestnut Chronicles

Driving to Woodland on I-5 North isn't what it used to be. On most days, one can drive from the outskirts of north Sacramento to Woodland in less than twenty minutes. Now with the upcoming expansion of Sacramento International Airport, and the businesses popping up on Metro Air Parkway, gridlock is about to happen. This is I-5 North by the 99/70 split on a Wednesday morning. Where did all these people come from? Sounds like a country song in that last sentence! Also much respect to our nation's truckers. They get a bad rap and they get treated like shit. Food on your table? Thank a trucker. Clothes on your back? Thank a trucker. Gas in your tank? Thank a trucker. You get the idea. 

Just had a big breakfast at Black Bear. I had chicken fried steak, eggs and bacon. Now I'm in a food coma. I need to keep moving. Think I'll go play golf. I'll put some music on. Country of course! 

Ever notice wherever you go, the view out the hotel room looks the same? Highways, gas stations, fast food restaurants, travelers coming and going. Think a song might be out there on that view.
